Info
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black’s one-person musical is about a young English girl living in America who is looking for just one thing from New York to Hollywood persistently and hopelessly: love. From the different-toned songs she sings, a diverse story unfolds that travels the intricate path to self-knowledge through the difficulties of making connections, and it becomes increasingly certain that at the end of the journey, the protagonist must accept herself in order to have a chance of happiness. The girl’s attempts are doomed to failure the most, with only a faint ray of hope emerging at the end of the play, in the last song, that maybe not everything is lost yet and true love finally find her.
This intimate, one-act, one person play consisting of songs from beginning to end, which includes some of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most beautiful, heartfelt songs, is the perfect opportunity for any singing actress to show off herself and her talent.
