Info
The stage is totally dark... Suddenly there's a ray of light - the Rock Emperor in the middle, his guitar around his neck! The masses of fans are immediately ecstatic at the sight of the Idol. The Master of Strings will run with satisfaction to his raging audience and would already slam into the first chord... when he wakes up and faces with cold reality, being totally unknown. Dewey Finn is actually a fuzzy, amateur rock musician who is only a dash away from being a total failure: he is kicked out of his band and his job at the same time; in addition, he has owed rent for months. Only a miracle can help... The miracle comes in the form of a phone call, following which the sloppy rocker fills the position of a deputy teacher the next day, on behalf of a roommate in an elite private high school. When he realizes that his well-combed pupils are true musicial talents without exception, he decides to put everything on one card: he starts to train them to perform on the rock festival called Battle of Bands. But how can this plan succeed if the stumbled teacher itself is even more childish than his students?
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s latest musical, presented in 2015, is based on the movie of the same title and there is no doubt that after Broadway and the West End of London, it is now conquering Hungarian audiences as well. The world-famous musical mind behind Jesus Christ Superstar once again switched to rock instruments; the powerful, catchy songs that weave through the witty and twisting play prove once again: rock and roll is eternal!
